Meet Our Web Design Team
“None of us is as smart as all of us.” – Ken Blanchard
With our web design team distributed across international borders and time zones, Butter Web Design is a true virtual agency. The core of our team lives and works out of Peterborough and Ottawa, with additional horsepower hailing from the United States and New Zealand.
Being a virtual web design agency has both advantages and disadvantages. Let’s talk about the downside first, as of course in-person meetings are just not possible (unless you’re willing to fill a couple pages in your passport). There is no central location for you to visit us all at one place, at one time.
These days, all of our “in person” correspondence has moved to video and phone conferencing. Also, at any given time, there’s a good chance one of us is sleeping, two of us are working, and the other is engaged in some kind of struggle with their young children. However, because we operate across time zones, it is also possible for us to be working on your project while you sleep.
What being a remote web design agency gives us is the ability to coordinate top industry talent, anywhere in the world, to get you the best web design money can buy. The best way to grasp how awesome this is would be to compare it to your breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It’s like having a couple Canadians frying up pancakes, bacon and real maple syrup for breakfast. Then for lunch, authentic Texans drop by to grill your Southern BBQ brisket on cornbread and slaw. I think they have some pretty deadly craft beer in a cooler too, on ice. Then for dinner, it’s fresh caught South Pacific lobster slathered in… you guessed it – butter!
Our overhead is much lower because we all work from home, no big rent payments for commercial space. Our lower operating costs mean we can deliver the best web design for your dollars invested.
Ryan / Web Designer
Ryan specializes in the design portion of building websites. He believes design is super important because it’s what captures a visitor’s attention within the first few seconds they arrive on your website. Today, a beautifully designed website is the best way to make a great first impression because it’s going to be the first point of contact for most of your prospects. Make that first impression count.
Tara / Project Manager
Tara leaves nothing to chance. She applies her organizational talents to make coordinated team effort at Butter hum along beautifully. The result of Tara’s efforts can be seen at the big-picture level and in Butter’s ability to generate consistent, high quality work over the long term.
Timothy / Web Developer
Timothy brings the nerd thunder. He’s totally at home in virtual and conceptual worlds that, quite frankly, scare the heck out of the rest of our team. And that’s good, because when projects take on extra layers of complexity it’s a wonderful feeling to have a guy like Timothy in your corner.
Lia / Finances
Lia has been with Butter Web Design since the beginning, staying on top of finances and accounting for the business. With a professional background tracing back to corporate interior design in Toronto, Lia has come to really enjoy working on a more personal level with local businesses.
